orphanage  update  2025

After 20 years of faithfully operating a weekly, then daily, Feeding Shelter, we are now in a new realm of serving.  Due to a variety of reasons (drug war violence and death, poverty, alcoholism and drug abuse, prostitution, child abuse and neglect), we have now become an ORPHANAGE.   The licensing process was begun in 2019.  Covid halted the process due to government offices closing and staffing becoming very difficult, even into 2021. In 2025 We are officially a state recognized orphanage in Mexico. We provide safe shelter, food, schooling, homework, and many basic needs for many poor and fatherless children. Our ministry center also serves as a church and safe haven to local children and adults in the neighborhood. We offer Bible studies, bi-weekly church services for the, youth and children's activities and much more.

weekly mission event

Our ministry center is staffed by a handful of  longtime serving, faithful adults who continue to tirelessly work to serve those who come.  Weekly gatherings provide a meal, a Food Gift Basket for local families, the Truth and Hope of the Gospel and a lot of love.

In 2019, urgent need led us to move from comedor (feeding shelter) and church to full-time orphanage. Our first step was to build a dormitory for the influx of children being dropped off at our doors .  For 15 years, this location had operated as a Feeding Shelter, serving over 1500 meals monthly.  Due to the continuing violence and poverty  not only In Juarez but in all of Mexico, there are  hundreds of thousands of children who are now orphaned.  We are caring for 40+ children who are victims of neglect, abuse, dire poverty, alcohol and drug addicted parents, and no-one to care for them.  God has brought these beautiful children into our care where they receive the love and attention they deserve. Below is a video of our 2019 trip to build the dormitory. This was just the beginning. God has continued to build our ministry center and church through your prayers and donations.

ANNUAL FUNDRAISER IN july-august FOR sending children to school

Each summer we raise support to send children to school.  Many, or most of these children would not go to school because their families cannot afford the registration fee (as low as $30 per student per year), the school uniforms ($35-$50 per student), backpacks, school supplies, sturdy shoes. Many of these children live in unsafe areas and their families (normally just a grandmother or family friend, as no parents are around for various reasons).  It is not safe to walk the area, let alone walk to and from a school. The desert area is rough.

BUT, through this outreach, the children in our care are driven to and from school daily by our staff.  They are given uniforms (which we wash 2 times each week), sturdy school shoes (sneakers), new underwear and socks, new backpacks and basic school supplies.
